Cys: Though short, this doujinshi by Tammy Lee was utterly delightful. The art-style and story are charming. There is an elegance in the clean, simple lines that she uses. Tammy Lee has an ability to switch her style from sensual to silly and back again. All without managing to be trite or heavy-handed. There is just something utterly captivating at seeing Hiei pounce.
Another aspect of the doujinshi that I enjoyed was that while the author was taking liberties with the characters, the situation in which she draws them is still plausible. Hiei is still the short, distrusting little fire-demon that we all know and love. Youko Kurama is just the right balance between sexiness and mischief. The "voices" given to the characters through the dialogue is very flowing and natural. All in all, this doujinshi was well worth the read, and leaves me wanting more. If this is the caliber of work to be expected from the anthology mentioned on the back cover, I cannot wait until the next year to see it.
